‘Giving back is as good for you as it is for those you are helping, because giving gives you purpose. When you have a purpose-driven life, you’re a happier person ‘ - Goldie Hawn. Pursuing a mission of doing our bit for the society, we feel privileged to share the details of a new initiative taken by our Ekam USA team. A bunch of friends from Lexington, Boston, sponsored a vegetarian meal to 120 homeless people at Nashua soup kitchen, NH. They themselves prepared , cooked, served and then cleaned up the facility. The team then happily donated the surplus amount of $ 96 to EKAM USA.

We have raised Rs. 12,06,601.00 for our ABHAYAM PROJECT [in partnership with EKAM FOUNDATION] since its inception on 1st Jan 2016, with 20 committed members and 6 one-off donors. Our special thanks to Dr Sai Lakshmi, Mr Charles and Miss Banu, for their support and guidance offered to ABHAYAM.

SBI, Chennai donated Rs.1,50,000/- for CSR activity to Ekam Foundation. CGM Shri.Vinay M Tonse presented the cheque today in a formal function.

EYA Columbus organized a food stall at local Telugu organization Rangoli competition during the weekend and raised $754. Kids sold home made and store bought snacks, explained about EKAM foundation and its goals. EKAM was introduced to several new people.

Destitute residing on roadsides in Salem were treated to free haircuts today by staff of Ekam foundation and Salem Kalam friends association, in celebration of New year 2020.

This is the first time that the Destitute were given a clean hair cut and they were also provided with new clothes giving them a new look on the new year eve. The event raised a hope of faith in the lives of these Destitute and they were feeling happy as they were taken care by the volunteers from both groups and made happy. Sweets were distributed to the people as a mark of welcoming new year 2020.
