10th Year Celebration

A team of 40 were gathered together at the ICSA hall on 30th August 2019 at 10.30 am. The room was decorated by the team, displaying eco friendly artistry and decor. The balloons were the only synthetic exception, but they lent an air of celebration.

The team was celebrating happiness at work. In honor of ten years of service in the field of maternal and child health, having worked with public healthcare systems and the community at large, the Tamil Nadu Team has plenty to celebrate.

It was their work and model that contributed in its own tiny way to the huge problem of infant and maternal mortality. They had helped, along with others to bring down deaths of babies and mothers. This achievement was one of the reasons UNICEF of Chhattisgarh chose to work with Ekam in its sick neonatal care units in the most difficult districts.

The boys were upbeat. It was their day to celebrate the power of Oneness in community. It was their day to be acknowledged by their teammates and beloved Founder, Dr. Sai.

The compete of the day, DCO Mohandas of Thiruvarur district was at his best. Words and wit flowed from him as he teased and praised his team mates, inviting them to receive their mementoes.

The chief guest of the day ,Trustee Mrs. Latha Pandiarajan was so moved, her extempore speech came from her heart like poetry - recalling the journey of 10 years. Dr. Vidhubala summed up the achievements backed with data and facts. Dr. Sai was forced to speak much against her wish to take centre stage. Giving in to the teams request, she recalled the spiritual journey of Oneness, and Ekam with much emotion.

Guests and consultants present were given seedlings and saplings. There was love in the air. There was bonding and joy. There was Oneness in the hearts of all.

Three cheers to Rajesh and the DCOs, along with Team Ekam Chennai for a great family event and the lovely lunch that followed.

Onward Ekam, we have miles to go!
